1. Verify production run order matches the packaging work order
Compare the work order number on the production traveler to the packaging work order. Confirm part number, lot number, and required quantity match.
→ If order numbers don't match: stop. Call floor supervisor immediately. Do not begin packaging until discrepancy is resolved.
2. Inspect components before boxing
Visually inspect each unit against the quality spec sheet at the station. Check for visible defects: scratches, wrong color, misalignment, missing components.
→ If any component shows a visible defect: pull the unit, tag it "QC Hold," set aside in the red bin at the end of the station. Log part number, defect type, and quantity on the defect sheet. Do not box defective units.
3. Stage correct box size and packing materials

5. Weigh the packed box

6. Apply shipping label — verify part number, lot number, and ship-to address

7. Seal box and stack on pallet
Apply tape per the sealing spec (H-tape pattern, 3 strips minimum). Stack on the outbound pallet in the orientation indicated on the pallet diagram.
→ If pallet is full: wrap pallet with stretch film (3 passes minimum), move to the shipping staging area, and start a new pallet. Do not stack more than 6 high on any pallet.
8. Log completed units on the shift production sheet
Record lot number, quantity packed, and operator name on the shift production sheet. Sign and time-stamp the entry.
→ If count doesn't match the work order quantity: recount. If still off by more than 2 units: call QC before closing out the order. Do not log a quantity you haven't verified.
