Social Media Post Publishing
Publish social content consistently with brand-approved copy and visuals.
SOP Steps
- 1
Pull from content calendar
Check the content calendar for the scheduled post. Confirm the topic, platform, and publish date/time are correct.
- 2
Write post copy
Draft the post copy following the brand voice guidelines. Keep it concise, on-brand, and tailored to the platform's best practices.
- 3
Source or create image/graphic
Select or create the visual asset for the post. Ensure it meets platform size requirements and aligns with brand style guidelines.
- 4
Get internal review/approval
Share the draft copy and visual with the designated reviewer. Incorporate any feedback and get final sign-off before scheduling.
- 5
Schedule in social tool
Upload the approved copy and visual into the scheduling tool (Buffer, Later, Hootsuite, etc.) and set the correct publish time.
- 6
Publish or confirm scheduled
Confirm the post is correctly scheduled or publish it manually if publishing immediately. Double-check the final preview before going live.
- 7
Monitor first 2 hours for engagement
Check the post within 2 hours of publishing to respond to early comments, flag any issues, and note initial engagement metrics.
- 8
Log performance in tracker
After 24 hours, log the key performance metrics (reach, impressions, engagement rate, clicks) in the content performance tracker.
